  • 1 oz simple syrup adjust to taste
  • handful ice crushed or cubed
  • 1 sprig fresh mint optional, for garnish

Method

  1. Place the sliced peaches into a sturdy glass or cocktail shaker and gently muddle them with a muddler until they release fragrant, juicy pulp and start to break down.
  2. Add the simple syrup to the muddled peaches and give it a quick stir to combine, helping to balance the fruit's natural sweetness.
  3. Pour the cooled black tea into the glass or shaker with the peach mixture, then add the smoky bourbon for depth of flavor.
  4. Fill the glass or shaker with a handful of crushed or cubed ice, then gently stir or shake everything together until well combined and chilled.
  5. Fill a cocktail glass with fresh ice or chill the glass beforehand, then strain or pour the muddled mixture into the prepared glass.
  6. Garnish the drink with a sprig of fresh mint for a fragrant, summery touch, and serve immediately with a straw or stirrer.

Notes

For extra flavor, muddle a few basil leaves along with the peaches. Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less simple syrup to suit your taste. Serve immediately for the freshest, juiciest experience.
